During my time as Artist-in-Residence at ASSIST Community Services Centre, I engaged with the staff, students and other clientele through a variety of discussion sessions and collaborative projects. The main aim within each of these interactions was not to learn about art, but rather to work through artistic sites as a mode of thinking, discussing and sharing ideas in relation to a broad range of topics. All projects were developed through ongoing consultation from involved teachers and students, and focused on creating alternative spaces to practice (English) language skills while encountering new ideas.
